TERMS & CONDITIONS

    • Submitting an application does not guarantee selection. Studio 404 curates each exhibition at its sole discretion.

    • Due to the volume of submissions, we are unable to provide individual feedback on unsuccessful applications.

    • Applications that are incomplete, misleading, incorrectly formatted, or submitted after the deadline may not be considered.

  • Artists are responsible for ensuring that all submitted information is correct, including artwork title, dimensions, medium, pricing and install requirements.

If measurements are requested in centimetres, they must be submitted in centimetres.

    • If selected, artists must meet all stated deadlines for asset delivery, artwork delivery and installation requirements.

    • Studio 404 reserves the right to withdraw an offer of inclusion if required materials, information or artwork are not provided on time, or if the delivered artwork materially differs from what was submitted.

    • All artworks must arrive exhibition-ready.

    • For 2D wall-based works, this generally means properly framed or otherwise professionally install-ready, unless agreed otherwise in writing in advance.

    • If Studio 404 agrees to arrange framing, stretching, printing or any other preparation on the artist’s behalf, all such costs must be reimbursed by the artist before sale payout or within the agreed payment period.

  • Artists are responsible for delivering and collecting their artwork within the agreed windows, unless alternative arrangements have been confirmed in writing.

Studio 404 is not responsible for storage beyond the agreed collection period.

If artwork is not collected within the agreed collection period, Studio 404 will contact the artist by email twice using the contact details provided. If no response or collection arrangement is made within 7 days of the second email, Studio 404 reserves the right to dispose of, donate, recycle or otherwise remove the artwork without liability.

  • If a work is sold through the exhibition, Studio 404 will retain 25% commission on the final sale price.

Any agreed costs incurred by Studio 404 on behalf of the artist, including, but not limited to, framing, stretching, printing, transport, or specialist installation support, will be deducted or reimbursed separately as agreed.

Artists are responsible for ensuring their sale price is entered correctly.

  • By applying, artists confirm that submitted images may be used by Studio 404 for selection purposes and, if selected, for exhibition-related marketing, press, social media, documentation and archiving.

    Copyright remains with the artist.

Studio 404 will credit artists wherever reasonably possible, but cannot guarantee credit in every third-party or press context.

In return, selected artists agree to credit Studio 404 in promotional posts related to the exhibition where reasonably possible, including tagging @studio404.world and any other requested partner accounts in shared social content. Final guidance and assets will be provided on selection.

  • Selected artists will be asked to support promotion of the exhibition across their own channels, including social media posts, stories, collaborative content and newsletters.

Final assets and guidance will be provided by Studio 404.

  • Artists must disclose any unusual install requirements, weight issues, fragile materials or specialist display needs in advance.

Studio 404 reserves the right not to install work that presents safety, handling or display concerns not disclosed at the point of submission.

We will be using professional handlers and installers.

  • Studio 404 will take reasonable care of all artworks while in its possession, but artists submit and exhibit work at their own risk.

Artists are responsible for arranging their own insurance where needed.

  • Studio 404 reserves the right to make reasonable changes to exhibition dates, opening times, layout, programming, venue operations or related event details where necessary.

  • Studio 404 reserves the right to refuse, remove or decline to display any artwork that:

    • materially differs from the submitted work

    • is not exhibition-ready

    • poses a safety or handling issue

    • infringes copyright or third-party rights

    • is considered unlawful, defamatory or otherwise inappropriate for the exhibition context

  • Your data will only be used for administering this open call and related exhibition communications.
