Coppafeel: the self-care circuit faqs
Saturday 24 October 2026 | Shoreditch Exchange, London | FREE EVENT
What if checking your chest became as normal as the other little things you do to take care of yourself?
This October, breast cancer awareness charity CoppaFeel! and independent, not-for-profit creative studio Studio 404 are teaming up to host The Self-Care Circuit, a FREE community event in Shoreditch, London, celebrating movement, creativity, wellbeing, and the importance of looking after ourselves and each other.
Created with young South Asian communities at its heart, the event brings together a morning run and walk, an intergenerational panel discussion, hands-on creative workshops, music, food and opportunities to start conversations about breast health.
Whether you're coming for the 5K run, joining the 3K walk, bringing your mum to the afternoon programme or simply looking to spend time with your community, there's something for everyone.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME, AND THE EVENT IS FREE TO ATTEND. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
Registration closes at 5pm on Friday 23 October.
Why we're bringing The Self-Care Circuit to London
For many of us, we learned self-care from our families. From the food we eat and the remedies we share to the rituals passed down by our mums, aunties and elders, looking after one another is often deeply connected to our culture.
But conversations about our bodies, breast health and checking our chests haven't always been as easy to have.
South Asian women in England face inequalities in breast cancer diagnosis, including a greater likelihood of being diagnosed at a later stage. These inequalities have complex causes, including barriers to healthcare access, awareness, and communication.
Through Passing Up Rituals, our theme for The Self-Care Circuit, we want to explore how knowledge and care can travel both ways between generations.
We learn so much from our elders. But what if younger generations could share something back?
The importance of knowing our bodies. Recognising changes. Asking questions. Making regular chest checking part of everyday self-care.
The Self-Care Circuit: Event Agenda
Here's what to expect on Saturday 24 October.
Panel Discussion:
Turning Taboo into Intimacy: Building a Healthy Relationship with Our Bodies
Growing up, many of us were taught how to care for others, but not always how to talk about our own bodies. From cultural expectations and body image to breast health and the things we were taught to keep private, some conversations can feel difficult to start, even with the people closest to us.
Our panel brings together different perspectives to explore what shapes our relationships with our bodies, why silence can persist across generations and how we can create more space for curiosity, understanding and care.
Our host, Nila is a London-based Tamil content creator, presenter and actor known for her love of nostalgia and storytelling across the film, TV and entertainment space. She uses her platform to champion the importance of South Asian representation on screen and to challenge stereotypes and reshape the narrative.
Sands (lso known as Dr Sandhya Sivakanthan) is a South Asian content creator, Gymshark athlete and former dental student using fitness to challenge cultural taboos. Through her own training and fitness journey with her mum, Sands is redefining cultural expectations for South Asian women.
Dr Veena Babu is an NHS GP, broadcaster and health content creator specialising in women’s health and equality.. She champions tailored healthcare solutions for the South Asian diaspora through her work and is passionate about improving women’s health equity.
Dhvani was diagnosed with breast cancer at 19 with no family history, Dhvani experienced firsthand the lack of awareness among young people. Now 21, she uses her platform to break taboos and empower others to know their normal.
And finally, Palak, the Engagement and Inclusion Assistant at CoppaFeel! Palak is passionate about working towards a world where inclusion and equity are not just ideals, but realities. She cares deeply about challenging systemic inequities, amplifying underserved voices, and creating safe, accessible spaces for all.
